The first Variété Anglaise soirée will take place at Culture Rapide on Wednesday May 11th, from 8.30 till late.
The featured artist is Anthony Allan Poe, a singer-songwriter who lives in Paris and who cites his main influences as Jacques Brel, Nick Cave, Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello. There are a few tracks from his album Madeleine up on soundcloud - check them out!

It's a tiny place with an intimate atmosphere which makes it the perfect location for this first Variété Anglaise soirée. It's a place that may be known to Paris-based English-speaking writers and musicians as the venue where the Spoken Word open mic night takes place every Monday night.
